Man, 25, stabs five-year-old daughter to death

A 25-year-old man, Thomas McClellan, from Michigan allegedly sat on his step-daughter’s chest and stabbed her before setting her ablaze because she asked for a snack. According to sources, Thomas was angry because the little girl, Luna Younger, refused to leave his room and insisted that he gave her food during court’s preliminary hearing on Thursday, so he wrestled her to the ground, sat on her hips and stabbed her multiple times before he covered her body with blankets, poured vodka on the pile and set it on fire. Victoria McClellan, the deceased’s mother, was said to be at work when it happened and the girl had already expired before firefighters arrived the scene.

Man, 46, bags 14 years in jail for raping 8-yr-old girl

A Federal High Court sitting in Kano, yesterday, sentenced a 46-year-old man, Salisu Abdullahi, to 14 years in jail for raping a minor. The presiding judge, Justice J. K. Omotosho, said that the court was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the convict carried out the act and convicted him without an option of fine. Salisu Abdullahi was arraigned on charges that has root in illicit sexual intercourse with an eight-year-old girl (names withheld).

Man, 24, arraigned over alleged theft of 100 live turkeys

A 24-year-old man, Joseph Onafusi, was on Wednesday brought before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly stealing 100 live turkeys and 40 male cockerels.

Onafusi, of an unknown address, faced a three charges of conspiracy, false entering and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Fatola, told the court that the accused on Dec. 9, at about 2: 34pm, allegedly entered a house belonging to one Olufemi Fabunmi, to commit the offences.

Man, 26, arraigned for defiling neighbour's 3-yr-old daughter

A 26-year-old man, Emeka Utomi, was, yesterday, arraigned in an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s three-year-old daughter, even as one Matthew Mbam, 21, was docked at same court for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl. The prosecutor, Simeon Inuoha, told the court that the Emeka called the girl into his room, inserted his finger into her vagina and was caught in the act by one of the co-tenants while Mbam invited his victim into his room under the pretext of sending her on an errand and defiled her. Chief Magistrate B. O. Osunsanmi granted both accused N300,000 bail with two sureties in like sum and adjourned Emeka's case till January 30, 2017 for mention.
